“Is This Online Information Marketing Business Model Right For You? – Step 3″

Posted by Lasam | Marketing Business | Monday 28 June 2010 2:56 am

se series of articles I’m writing, I want to specifically talk about the 8 Steps to Starting Your Own Online Information Marketing Business. Because this is by far one of the only types of businesses out there that is still generating millions of dollars and doing it via the internet.

Now when I say develop new streams of revenue, I’m not talking about adding one or more network marketing type businesses to your belt so you just have more to sell that may or may not be at all related to the type of business you’re already in. Not that there’s anything wrong with network marketing models but I just wanted to make that distinction; I’m not talking about that kind of income stream.

I’m talking about leveraging your expertise, knowledge, systems, services, information, etc. into products and services you can create basically one time and then sell over and over again via the internet.

If you’re already in an information marketing business you still may want to pay attention because I can almost guarantee that you will be negligent in one, two or even maybe three of the steps I plan to cover. Changing these things in your business could generate 10’s of 1,000’s of dollars in your pocket if you tweak a few things.

We know millions of people are still spending money. The question is how do you get a piece of that pie?

Well, Step 3 in this process is Figuring Out What to Sell and How to Price It.

Previously in step 2 I talked about choosing the business model that fits the type of lifestyle you want to lead. So after doing that there will be specific types of products, services or programs that fit that model (others will not).

So, what will you sell?

- Will you sell yourself and your time? Will you sell hourly, monthly or annual coaching or consulting services, packages or programs?

o If so, how much will you charge per hour? per month, etc.?

o Will you definitely charge “what you’re worth” or will you charge less thinking that people won’t pay what you think you are worth? Be careful undercharging or under valuing yourself. I say you charge what you’re worth and then find the people who agree and will pay you that fee.

o What is included in your services – call in hours, 1on1 calls, group Q&A calls, in person meetings, emailing, critiquing, resources?

o What can you also offer as a bonus to get people to sign up?

- Will you sell your information and expertise? You can put almost anything you know about into an information marketing product these days. Of course you do want to make sure people want what you’re selling so doing surveys and research first is critical.

o You can write an article, read it on a teleclass for a product, then record it too and you have an audio recording or CD. Transcribe the call and edit with the article and maybe beef up a bit and you have the ebook to go with the CD!

o Or record yourself talking about a topic, transcribe it and you create the product – it can be that simple.

o There are numerous other ways to create products to sell – talk to me for more ideas!!

o So, how much is your expertise worth? Well, look around at other similar products, compare price and content then start somewhere and possibly test out different prices or survey an audience to see what they would spend. Typically for an information marketing product you can charge 10 times the amount it actually costs to produce if you’re selling a hard copy product. If you’re selling a digitally delivered product, you can do it for less and focus on volumn sales.

- Will you hold live events, retreats, workshops, seminars or other in person meeting? You can sell those one by one or in a series and if you record those or videotape those then you have a home study kit!

o Pricing for events is hard to generalize. Some bigger 3+ day events typically go for $3000, others can go for less. It depends on your goals of your event and what else you have to sell at the event too – where else you can make money….

- You can do a combination of these things too; I do them all! But you do typically want to start with ONE thing first, then add to it and so on. Now, granted you can’t just plop a webpage up or blog and think people will come and buy right away. You still have to set up systems, your support team, build a responsive list and manage ongoing marketing campaigns for any of these things to sell properly.

I’ve done this and taught hundreds of my clients how to do this and you can do it too. I’d love to show you how!!

When I changed my entire business model to this information marketing model I immediately got back 50 hours per week that I was spending working on all my client’s work or busywork that I now spend on my own business and personal development.

There are 5 more steps to starting your own Online Information Marketing Business and so I will bring you more later…..

Now IS THE TIME to take action in your business. It’s time to think bigger, dream bigger, make bigger goals and take bigger leaps of faith in order to truly get the business and life of your dreams.

5 Things to Consider Before Starting a Work at Home Internet Marketing Business

These days, the internet is flooded with work at home businesses. In fact, if you type, “work at home business” into Google, you’ll get 372 MILLION results! With so many possibilities, how do you know which is the right one?

Here are 5 things to consider before starting a work at home internet marketing business. You can have other work at home jobs that have nothing to do with internet marketing (such as data entry or call center jobs), but if you really want to own a business and not just a job, you are going to want to have an internet marketing business.

1. What are you going to sell? – First things first, if you are going to be an internet marketer, you need something to market. Really, there are only two options: sell something you have or sell something someone else has.

2. If you’re going to sell something you have, how are you going to do it? – Again, there are only 2 real options. You are either going to sell your good or service straight up, or you are going to have other people sell it for you. Either way, the marketing techniques will be the same (articles, ads, websites, etc.), but if you are going have affiliate sellers, you should provide them with a generous amount of materials to use in selling your product.

3. If you’re selling someone else’s product, what is it going to be? – Selling other people’s stuff essentially means you are going to be an affiliate for someone else’s business. You want to pick a product that has high relevancy, but not too much competition. The key is to find a hot niche.

4. How much money do you want to make? – If you set your financial goal upfront, then you know what you have to shoot for (e.g., how many sales you need to make). Whatever goal you set, you need to be committed to following through with whatever it takes to reach that goal. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it, but you have to truly believe that you can do it and act accordingly.

5. How many hours do you want to work? – Conventional knowledge says that the more you work, the more money you will make. That is not necessarily true in internet marketing. This consideration is really about strategy. You need to determine what your plan of attack is and how you can implement that plan in a smart, efficient way. Research methods of automating your business, and you’ll be amazed at how little time it actually takes to make money.

This article presents some basic things to consider before starting a home-based internet marketing business. It is easy to just say you are going to have a work from home internet marketing business and just jump into it. However, by considering what has been presented here beforehand, you can save time and money on the backend.

Learn Why Some People Will Not Join Your Network Marketing Business

Posted by Lasam | Marketing Business | Wednesday 28 April 2010 7:29 am

ve joined a multi level marketing company. You feel that you have a great product to offer and are eager to show the business to others. You make your lists of contacts and you show your plan and opportunity. You expect the same excitement from them and they say no. How quickly the air has just got out of the bubble. How discouraging is that? You now feel, did I make the right decision?

Did you ever stop and think why people did not join your network marketing business? Is it your approach, your product, or people just don’t like network marketing because they think it’s some pyramid scheme?

We are not going to hit it off with everyone so don’t take it personally. Network marketing is a relationship business. Are you confident among your friends and peers? If so, you need to develop the same confidence with your business. If you come off unsure or negative, why would anybody want to team up with you? You may be a nice person and fun to be around but getting involved in a business is different. Spend some time with your sponsor and upline and learn more about your business. Use them on three way calls, you have your friends relationship, your sponsor has the knowledge. As you learn more your confidence will grow.

Maybe you are confident but they don’t like your product. This may be true but the fact is most people hate to be sold. If a telemarketer called you right now how receptive to his product would you be. We all have a natural defense mechanism built in to reject that kind of message. As great as your product might be it stills starts with the relationship between you and your recruit, not the product and your recruit.

“Is it some type of pyramid scheme”? There are many people who prejudge and have some preconceived idea as to how network marketing works. People don’t hat pyramid type of pay scales. Do you know anyone working in corporate America? It all works the same, instead of calling it your upline, you have layers of management. The people that fail in network marketing give mlm a bad rap. Most fail because they don’t work hard. They expect the upline above to do their work. If you did that in corporate America you would get fired. So is it a pyramid scheme or is it you? The big difference with network marketing is that you have much greater monetary rewards and get to choose your boss. It can’t get any better than that.

Try to cut your ties with the doom and gloomers, they will drag you down. Take a good look in the mirror and tell yourself that it all start with me. You are not going to have everyone sign up for your business, but with the right attitude and hard work, you will be successful. Hold you head high, enjoy your business and get to work!
